Pursuit of Happiness Vs. Pursuit of Fairness

Life is not fair. People who know and accept that life is not fair can be happy. Those who do not know and do not accept that life is not fair cannot be happy because they will always yearn for something that cannot be. Cry-babies who fantasize that life can be fair need to surrender their cell phones to the government and start planting rice in their backyards . . . but that would mean they would have to figure out how to distribute backyards to all whiners fairly.
Americans have a history of taking responsibility for their lives. They would rather pursue happiness than fairness.
