America's Role in the World

"Internationally, President Obama has adopted an appeasement strategy. He believes America's role as leader in the world is a thing of the past. I believe a strong America must--and will--lead the future."
-- Mitt Romney --

Business Is About Dreams

"Business and growing jobs is about taking risk, sometimes failing, sometimes succeeding, but always striving. It is about dreams. Usually, it doesn't work out exactly as you might have imagined. Steve Jobs was fired at Apple. He came back and changed the world."
-- Mitt Romney --

Washington's Liberal Politicians

"Sometime I wonder whether Washington's liberal politicians truly understand the greatness that is America."
-- Mitt Romney --

Honoring the Military

"We reserve our deepest respect and admiration for those who volunteer for service and give their lives to help keep our nation secure."
-- Mitt Romney --

Free Enterprise

"Free enterprise has done more to lift people out of poverty, to help build a strong middle class, to help educate our kids, and to make our lives better than all the programs of government combined."
-- Mitt Romney --

American Principles

"We believe in individual initiative, personal responsibility, opportunity, freedom, small government, the Constitution. These principles, these American principles are key to getting our economy back to being successful and leading the world."
-- Mitt Romney --

What Makes America Great

"What makes America the greatest nation in the world is the heart of the American people; hardworking, innovative, risk-taking, God-loving, family-oriented American people."
-- Mitt Romney --

When Government Takes Money From the People

"I spent my whole life in the private sector, 25 years in the private sector. I understand that when government takes more money out of the hands of people, it makes it more difficult for them to buy things. If they can't buy things, the economy doesn't grow. If the economy doesn't grow, we don't put Americans to work."
-- Mitt Romney --

The Family Here at Home

"America cannot continue to lead the family of nations around the world if we suffer the collapse of the family here at home."
-- Mitt Romney --

Leadership

"Leadership is about taking responsibility, not making excuses."
                                 -- Mitt Romney --

On Dependency

"Dependency is death to initiative, to risk-taking and opportunity. It's time to stop the spread of government dependency and fight it like the poison it is."
-- Mitt Romney --

Religious Liberty

"Religious liberty is the first freedom in our Constitution. And whether the cause is justice for the persecuted, compassion for the needy and the sick, or mercy for the child waiting to be born, there is no greater force for good in the nation than Christian conscience in action."
-- Mitt Romney --

The Invisible Hand of the Market

"The invisible hand of the market always moves faster and better than the heavy hand of government."
-- Mitt Romney --

Welfare Without Work

"People from both political parties have long recognized that welfare without work creates negative incentives that lead to permanent poverty. It robs people of self esteem."

-- Mitt Romney --

Our Blueprint

"Our plans protect freedom and opportunity, and our blueprint is the Constitution of the United States."
-- Mitt Romney --

Trust in God or in the Government?

Mitt Romney's message resonates with the motto engraved on every American coin and bill:
"In God We Trust."
President Obama's message resonates with the motto "In government we trust."
Can it get any more clear?

Reapply Our Founding Principles

Mitt Romney is prepared to reapply America's Founding Principles as documented in

  • The Constitution of the United States
  • The Bill of Rights
  • The Declaration of Independence
  • The Gettysburg Address

Reapply American Values

Mitt Romney is prepared to apply three primary values found on every American coin:

  • In God We Trust
  • Liberty
  • ePluribus Unum (out of many, one)

The Sleeping Giant

Mitt Romney is prepared to awaken the sleeping giant of opportunity and energy for every American citizen who wants to work and live the American dream.

Do You Want to Live Your Life?

Do you want to live your life, or do you want the government to live it for you?
Mitt Romney is prepared with ideas and skills to untangle the knots and free Americans to live their own lives.

Americans or Europeans?

Today, Americans face the same questions they faced in the 1700s.
Do we want to lead the world and be free Americans?
Or do we want to go along with the world's status quo and be Europeans?
Mitt Romney is prepared with skills and ideas to keep Americans . . . Americans.

Prioritize and Delegate

An effective president can prioritize responsibilities and delegate lesser ones to others.
Mitt Romney has done it in the past, can do it in the present, and will do it in the future.

President Obama? Not so much.
The proof is in the pudding.

Showing Up for Work

An effective president shows up for work and then does the work.
Mitt Romney has a record of showing up . . . for work . . . and getting the job done.

Mitt Romney's Record

Mitt Romney is prepared to be president.
He has a record of success, hope, transparency, hard work, and patriotism.
He doesn't just say the words. He lives them.

Serving Our Country

I jotted down a quote but am not sure who said it.
"Serving our country is above politics."
Mitt Romney is the kind of guy who is prepared to let his service to America speak louder than his words ever could.

Talking a Lot But Not Saying Anything

One Sunday after church, we quizzed our children around the dinner table,
"What did you learn in Sunday School?"
One of our sons replied, "The teacher talked a lot, but he didn't say anything."
His response was funny at the time, but now . . . whenever Obama's tired phrases of fame, blame, and shame are heard, it's not that funny anymore.

Mitt Romney is Uniquely Qualified

Mitt Romney is uniquely qualified to be president of the United States because of his character, his ability to work successfully with others, his heart for America and its citizens, and his success in the world of business.

American Exceptionalism

Definitions vary for the term "American exceptionalism." For now, I like my own:
The United States of America is a nation apart in that it protects and promotes stewardship rights to individual property and liberty of thought, word and action. It is also a nation apart because its motto is "In God We Trust."
While it is evident in the present election that many Americans no longer believe in the ideology of American exceptionalism, many still do.
And I am one of them.

Obamanesia

Ok, you're probably not going to hear Romney use the word "Obamanesia" in an attempt to marginalize the small-minded "Romnesia" that is being used by a certain president and his campaign. Why not? Because . . . really? Mitt Romney has more class than that.
That said, I can use the word "Obamanesia" in reference to the distance Obama is trying to put between his rhetoric, his failed policies and his failed presidency because I have a lot less patience and a lot less class than Mitt Romney has.

A Scripture for Close Elections: 1 Samuel 16:7

" . . . man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."

1 Samuel 16:7 (King James Version)

A Scripture for Close Elections: Joshua 1:6

"Be strong and of a good courage." Joshua 1: 6 (King James Version)
